2007 - Hellenic NOBEL Museum

Tasks:

Location: Chalandri, Attica, Greece
Preliminary concept: 2007
Client: the owner Prof. G. Markou.

Our proposal was to design a museum as a floating volume, surrounded by a reflecting pool, divided into two triangular shells of different heights, hosting a helicoidally developed pathway through all levels.

The two triangular shapes have been covered with aluminum panels, while the pathway connecting them have been covered with glass.

Due to the fact that the bottom floor has been surrounded by glass, it makes the building look as if it is afloat.

The main entrance through a pedestrian bridge is dominated by a strong reference to a Doric Gate.
